First Impressions of the Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite:
I was immediately impressed opening the box. This is one serious juicer! Unlike other juicers, the Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite is a serious piece of machinery. There are no tinker toy plastic bits and pieces to this appliance. The Breville 800JEXL is made from durable die-cast stainless steel parts.
The sturdy construction means that the 800JEXL is heavier and takes up a bit more counter space than some other juicers on the market. However, unless you’re moving it around a lot between uses, this isn’t really a problem.
Inside the box you will find everything required to start juicing. The Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite box includes all critical components, including: The Juicer motor housing, stainless-steel micro-mesh filter cutting disc, circular feeding tube, pulp collector, juice pitcher with foam removing lid.
Some additional accessories included with the Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite are a two in one cleaning brush and spatula as well as a recipe book and instruction manual.
Setting up the Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite for first use:
From first use, the juicer can be put together in minutes without looking at the instructions. However, everyone should read the instructions. There are lots of good tips for proper operation and maintenance in the owners manual.
Despite the clean packaging it’s a good idea to get any potential dust off of the parts. I’d recommend washing or at least rinsing all the components prior to the first use. All of the parts can be washed and re-assembled within minutes. This will help in getting the best out of your first juicing experience.
Easy to put together, takes minutes
Lots of care tips in the owners manual
Wipe down or rinse off before using
Using the Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite:
Turning the Breville 800JEXL on for the first time was an exhilarating experience. What you may be expecting is something like a blender, what you get is much more. The power of the 1000-Watt electric motor is immediately evident as it instantly revs up to over 13,000 RPM. That’s faster than any other juicer on the market. Not to spoil the fun, but it sounds more like a race bike than a kitchen appliance on the highest setting.
The first recipe included some of the most common vegetable juice ingredients; carrots, celery and cucumber. These were all easily pushed down the metallic feeding tube with the food plunger and obliterated in seconds. The power of this juicer is evident immediately. Not only does the Breville 800JEXL have enough speed to process solid veggies into liquids, it also has plenty of torque. The motor is so strong, you simply won’t ever be able to slow or stop the cutting disc under normal use.
One Litre of juice was ready in no time. A full pitcher of fresh juice ready to be consumed. Press the red off button and the machine to slowly winds down and eventually stops.
The full pitcher of juice needs a little swirl to homogenize the layers vegetable juice in the pitcher. A specially designed foam-scraping lid separates the froth when pouring. (An example of the attention to detail which this juicer is known for.)
Very powerful motor, no slowing or stopping
Juices everything and separates all the pulp
Cleaning the Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite:
It will look like a huge mess, but cleaning the Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite is actually quite easy after you get the hang of it. Cleaning out all the working components of the juicer is even easier because of the design. The Breville 800JEXL has few 90 degree corners or small corners for vegetable pulp to get stuck in. So, everything can be easily rinsed out and scrubbed down. It’s a bit of work, but after a few washes you get the hang of it. I can clean up everything by hand within 15 minutes.
Dishwasher safe? Sure, all the literature says you are able to throw the components into the dishwasher without worry. I wouldn’t recommend it, though. From my experience, a dishwasher just isn’t able to clean all the bits and pieces reliably and the one major fallback of using a dishwasher for your dirty work; the nice clear plexiglass components tend to turn cloudy and gross. This is irreversible after the damage is done. So, take your time and wash with care.
Easy to clean, easier with practice
Nowhere for food to get stuck
Reliability of the Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite:
I can guarantee, you won’t be disappointed with the quality of your Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite. This is one serious juicer that was designed to perform and built to last. The 1000 watt motor is the envy of other weaker juicers on the market. This high-torque, high-speed motor provides the best performance out of the appliance with no dangers of burning up or wearing down. Solid forged and cast stainless steel housing and components are indestructible in major disasters let alone everyday use. Operation is simple easy and efficient while providing superior results. This juicer will most likely be the last juicer you ever need to buy.
